a history of mathematics in territory design...
The history of technology in territory design has its roots in Thomas Jefferson's Land Ordinance of 1785. This legislation laid the foundation for land policy in the United States. The survey was conducted under the supervision of Thomas Hutchins (1730–1789) who was the first person to hold the title of U.S. Geographer. His survey work employed the latest technology available to systematically carve up land west of the Appalachians into square "townships", six miles on a side. Thus the first mathematically designed territories were created.
continuing a tradition...
TTG continues the tradition Jefferson and Hutchins started in 1785 by combining the power of the personal computer with the most recent innovations in software design and optimization algorithms. All of these technologies come together in AlignStar® bringing you unprecedented control over your field territories by allowing you to perform spatial analysis, territory design, realignment and optimization with minimal training or experience. We empower you to make the right critical decisions to move your business ahead of the competition, minimize costs and improve the effectiveness of your sales force.
For over 20 years, TTG has assisted scores of businesses in the strategic deployment of their sales resources brought about by a corporate merger, downsizing, increased competition, or changes in marketing strategies. TTG has a depth of experience unprecedented in this field. This experience is brought to TTG's clients in the form of its off-the-shelf mapping software designed specifically for sales analysis and realignment.
TTG's flagship product, AlignStar Desktop Edition, addresses the needs and automates the tasks of its target audience using an environment and vocabulary which are immediately familiar to its users. AlignStar works the way sales, marketing, and business planning professionals work; its users are not required to make substantial changes in their business processes in order to adapt to a new technology. Right out of the box, AlignStar includes functionality which is simply not available in other desktop mapping and GIS products. Most importantly, AlignStar solves business problems in a fraction of the time that generic mapping products require, and further, it is capable of solving problems that most GIS systems cannot solve at all. AlignStar easily manages large cartographic and attribute data files with ODBC connectivity to common database structures.
